Moscuea, 30, jumped on Clarke early in the first round, connecting with two left hooks that dropped him to the canvas. That knockdown put Clark out of the fight, as he didn’t show the heart to quit against the younger, faster, more powerful Mosquea.
In the championship rounds, Clark’s corner tried to wake him up to motivate him to go to war with Mosque. He couldn’t do that. Clarke tried to let go of his hands in the 11th, but some monstrous left hooks from Moscowa staggered him. After that, Clarke played it safe and boxed and went into the final round to take his loss.
The scores were 117-113 for Clark, 116-112 and 115-113 for Moscow.
