Blind date is a pillar of Saturday’s dating: every week two strangers are prepared for lunch and drinks, then spill the beans on us, answering questions. This runs when we take a photo of each page ahead of time, in Saturday’s magazine (in the UK) and online at . theguardian.com every Saturday It’s been running since 2009 – you can Read all about how we put it together here.
What shall I ask?
We ask about the age, location, occupation, hobbies, interests and type of person we are looking for. If you don’t think these questions cover everything you want to know, tell us what you have in mind.
Can I choose who to match with?
Yes, a blind date! But we ask you to tell us something about your interests, preferences, etc. – the more you tell us, the better the match will be.
Can I choose a photo?
No, but do not be afraid: we choose the pleasant ones.
What personal details will appear?
Your first name, job and age.
What shall I answer?
Honestly but shyly. Be mindful of how your time is read, and The Day of the Blind reaches a large audience, in print and online.
Will I see the other person’s answers?
No. We may edit your accounts, including their length, and we may ask you for more information.
Will you find me one?
We will try! Marriage! Babies!
Can I do it in my country?
It’s only in advertising. Many of our listeners live in London, but we love to hear from people who live elsewhere.
