A Buckingham Palace the housekeeper was arrested after one of the staff Christmas party erupted into chaos, with broken glasses and punches a popular bar near the royal residence.
A member of staff, described by witnesses as “hysterical”, was deprived of liberty on suspicion of committing an attackpunitive damages, and being drunk and irregular monitoring a drunken evening at All Bar One in Victoria Street, The sun registered.
“She was on another level,” said one observer. “I’ve never seen a person go so crazy during a night out. It was shocking.”
The night began with a formal drinks reception at Buckingham Palace at 4pm before almost 50 staff members walked the short distance to the bustling bar. Things reportedly took a turn when the woman, believed to work as a housekeeper in the royal household, began smashing glasses and verbally abusing staff.
Bar staff were forced to call the police as the scene got out of control and the woman allegedly tried to punch the manager.
“At 9.21pm on Tuesday 10 December, officers were called to a bar in Victoria Street, SW1, following reports that a customer had broken glasses and attempted to assault a member of staff,” the Metropolitan Police confirmed.
The woman was taken into custody and spent the night in a cell before being released the next day on a fine. Police are believed to have seized CCTV footage of the incident.

Another insider described the venue, popular for Christmas parties, as “incredibly busy” at the time.
A spokesman for Buckingham Palace distanced the incident from the royal household, saying: “We are aware of an incident outside the workplace involving a number of household staff who had previously attended an early evening reception at the Palace.
“Although this was an informal social gathering and not an official palace Christmas party, the facts will be fully investigated, with a strong disciplinary process followed against individual staff and appropriate action taken.”
The arrest serves as a warning, and experts warn that Christmas parties can sometimes get out of hand. For this Palace official, the holiday season seems to have ended with a lot more than a hangover.
