2 Boston elementary school students, school staff member burned

Two elementary school students and a school staff member were burned to death at a Dorchester school Thursday afternoon.

The incident happened at the inclusion school Dr. William W. Henderson K-12 in Dorchester, a Boston Public Schools spokesperson confirmed to MassLive in a statement.

They were injured after a mobile lunch cart carrying hot water under trays of food overturned and spilled them into the school cafeteria, the statement said.

One student had serious injuries while the other had minor injuries. Boston.com reported.

“Our school nurse provided immediate care and staff called 911 who transported our students to the hospital for additional medical attention,” the district’s statement said.

The district is “working to ensure our students and families have the support they need,” the spokesperson said.
