The home and family of U.S. Rep. Ayanna Pressley were targeted in a bomb threat, a spokesperson for the Boston Democrat told MassLive.
The threat against Pressley, D-7th District, was received Monday by the Suffolk County Sheriff’s Office, and Boston police were “on site at the congresswoman’s residence to assess the situation,” it said the spokesperson in a statement.
The Boston Democrat was unharmed.
“SWAT threats like these pose a threat not only to elected officials, their families and their staff, but also to our neighbors and community and we condemn them in the strongest terms,” Pressley’s office said.
Pressley is the second Massachusetts lawmaker in less than a week to be the target of a bomb scare. Saturday, said U.S. Rep. Lori Trahan, D-3rd District she had been hit with a similar threatMassLive previously reported.
