The height of Taylor Swift, the value of Bitcoin and the network of the influential MrBeast are named among the most frequently asked questions of Amazon’s virtual assistant, Alexain the UK this year.
The tech giant said US pop star Swift, whose record-breaking Eras Tour continued throughout the year, topped the list for celebrity questions about height and age.
She also had three top-five best-selling albums and was named a top artist by Alexa and Amazon Music.
She was the second Elon Musk for net worth questions, with MrBeast (real name James Donaldson) coming in third.
According to the annual data, which covers the period from September 2023 to November 2024, general knowledge questions remained popular among Alexa users, with the value of Bitcoin and the population of the Earth among the most asked questions of the year.
Amazon data says asking Alexa for soccer updates was among the most popular uses for the AI assistant.
“What time does the England game start?” was among the most popular sports questions of the year – with the England men’s team reaching the Euro 2024 final in the summer – and asked Alex to reveal the latest results from matches including Liverpool, Manchester United, Arsenal and Manchester City were also among the most frequent questions.
Using Alexa as a kitchen assistant was another big trend in 2024, Amazon said, with recipes for pancakes, Yorkshire pudding and banana bread listed as the most popular requests.
Recipes for cake pops, halloumi stuffed peppers and mango ice cream also made the top 10.
