Flood watch for Berkshire County for Wednesday and Thursday



At 3:18 a.m. Tuesday, the National Weather Service issued a flash flood warning in effect from 1 p.m. Wednesday until 7 a.m. Thursday for Berkshire County.

The weather service says, “Flooding is possible from excessive rainfall.”

“Excessive runoff can cause flooding of rivers, streams, creeks and other low-lying, flood-prone locations. Streams and streams can overflow their banks. Flooding can occur in urban and poorly drained areas,” the service describes meteorological . “You should monitor further forecasts and be alert for possible flood warnings. Those living in flood-prone areas should be prepared to take action should flooding occur.”
