Bill Belichick as reported interviewed for North Carolina’s vacant coaching job. And although it is considered the best open job, Tom Brady he doesn’t see his former coach looking forward to doing it at the college level.
“No,” Brady said emphatically during his in-studio appearance on FOX’s pregame coverage. “There’s a lot he can do, and obviously he’s tremendous, and it even shows his personality. But getting out there on the recruiting trail and dealing with all those college kids with NILs? Can you imagine what it recruits?
Brady mimicked Belichick as a recruiter: “You really want to come here? We don’t really want you anyway.”

Rob Gronkowski and Julian Edelman agreed they couldn’t see Belichick doing all the extra work that comes with being a college coach.
Belichick’s success as an NFL coach speaks for itself. He was then left out of the 2024 training cycle separation with the New England Patriots earlier this year. There have been several reports that he will return to the NFL sidelines in 2025, as several teams will need a new coach next season.
He has been busy with various media gigs including co-hosting the “Let’s go!” podcast, appear weekly on “The Pat McAfee Show” and have his own show.
The eight-time Super Bowl champion has never coached at the college level and sources told MassLive’s Karen Guregian tBelichick and UNC’s interest “can only be cosmetic at this point.”
Belichick is 15 wins away breaking Don Shula’s record of most wins by an NFL coach, and according to reports Belichick wants the puck to be his.
