Drew BarrymoreThe new kitchen range has come under fire TikTok users criticized the devices for being too “confusing” to use.

49 year old actor and TV personality launched a sample edition of its tableware collection earlier this year. Afterwards kitchen products have developed a cult following, Barrymore branch out into a partnership with Walmart, bringing her designs to a wider audience.

Items in the “Beautiful by Drew” product line include microwaves, pots, nonstick pans, toasters, waffle makers and deep fryers.

But social media users have shared their frustrating experiences with kitchenware on TikTok.

“I have a few bones to pick about this Drew Barrymore ‘Beautiful’ line,” user @chaos_coordinator began.

“First of all, I like that they are non-sticky, they do great in that regard, but the handles do get hot. Second, the microwave, it’s nice and big, but I was surprised to find that there are no numbers you can type in? You just need to hold down this button”.

The user then demonstrated holding the “+” on the microwave, increasing the heating time by 10 second intervals. However, she added that when the device starts, it is locked. She reported that this is supposed to be a child safety feature, but added, “I can’t quite figure it out, I need to find the manual.”

However, she said her “biggest problem” is with pot.

“This is so hard to turn on and off, I keep having to turn it off, I can’t press the buttons the right way. I don’t know if it’s worth going back?”

Users offered their sympathies on TikTok as they wrote: “Why do you need a degree to figure these settings out?” and “No number on a microwave oven is devilish.”

“Locking the microwave would be too much for me,” read another comment, while some called the design simply “confusing.”

Another added: “My microwave number display stopped working after 6 months. I had the same problem with the pot and threw the toaster away because it BURNED EVERYTHING.”

However, others defended the design as they reasoned, “I wonder if they have a manufacturing problem because I haven’t had any problems with any of my stuff. I have pots and pans, a deep fryer, and a blender, and they’ve all been great.”

The Independent has reached out to Walmart and a representative for Barrymore for comment.
