Jason and Travis Kelce have joined Boyz II Men perform a Christmas song for charity.
The Kelce brothers share their vocals with a nineties boy band on “It’s Christmas Time (In Cleveland Heights)” – and holiday single released as part of The Philly Specials’ annual Christmas fundraising project.
In the animated music video released on Friday (Dec. 6), the song opens with Travis’ cartoon face floating in the sky as he sings, “This is a shout out to everyone around the world who is thinking about home this Christmas. ”
From there, Boyz II Men members Nathan Morris, Wanyá Morris and Shawn Stockman deliver a soulful melody before the Kelce brothers join in with heartfelt lyrics.
“It must be years since I’ve been home,” Travis sings. “Yes, it’s been years since I’ve been home. I’m home now.”
His brother Jason follows: “It’s Christmas in Cleveland Heights,” reflecting on their hometown in Ohio. Later, Jason sings, “I’m thinking about the lives I’ve left behind. And now it’s starting to snow.”
Jason, who founded The Philly Specials with Eagles teammates Lana Johnson and Jordan Mailata in 2022, has made the annual Christmas edition a tradition to raise money for charity.
Sharing a look behind the scenes Xwrote: “Travis was kind enough to help out and sing on our Christmas album for the second year running, and this year he hit extra close to home in an ode to our hometown. I hope you enjoy this music video!”
This year’s Christmas album also features a collaboration with Stevie Nicks, although pop megastar Taylor Swift — who has been with Travis for the past year — has yet to lend her vocals. Jason was clear that he was not imposing on Swift, explaining further The Rich Eisen Show last month to avoid asking her for any favors, including Eras Tour tickets.
“As much as Taylor said she’d take care of anyone I asked,” he said, “I still say no to everyone. I will not be the one to impose it.” Praising Swift, he added: “She has been nothing but lovely to our family. She’s a wonderful person and I don’t want that to be the dynamic.”
Later in the episode, Jason revealed that his three-year-old daughter Elliotte is a fan of Swift’s music and can often be heard singing along to the pop star’s lyrics. He noted that she amusingly changes the swear words from a line in Swift’s “I Can Do It With A Broken Heart” so she can sing it: “I’m a really tough kid. I can handle my own stuff.”
