Firefighters tackle a blaze that broke out at an industrial estate in West Lothian, sending a plume of thick black smoke billowing into the sky.
Crews were called to the scene at the Brucefield industrial estate near Livingston by nine fire engines.
Drivers were told to avoid the area as firefighters needed to bring the fire under control.
Images on social media showed a plume of smoke rising from the site which could be seen as far away as Fife.
West Lothian Council posted online saying: “Scottish fire and rescue services are currently monitoring a significant fire at the Brucefield industrial estate in Bellsquarry, near Livingston. Motorists are being advised to avoid the area if possible.”
The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service (SFRS) said the emergency was lifted shortly after 3pm on Saturday.
A spokesman said: “We are on the scene of a large building fire in Livingston.
“We received the call at 1.07pm and nine fire services and a number of specialist resources gathered at the Brucefield industrial estate to control operations.
“Firefighters are working to put out the fire today, which has engulfed a large factory and several adjoining buildings. No accidents have been reported.”
Shortly after 10.30pm, SFRS spokesmen confirmed several instruments were still on the scene including two pumping aids, two height instruments and a water carrier.
They added that fire crews are likely to remain at the scene “for some time.”
