BOSTON – The Bruins He had to overcome a rough start, some early mistakes and a two-goal hole heading into the third period. But they will hit the road on a happy note after winning their fourth game in a row.
Boston scored twice in the third period and Pavel Zacha delivered the winner in overtime to beat the Flyers, 4-3, on Saturday at TD Garden.
The Bruins are on a five-game trip out West that begins Tuesday in Winnipeg.

The first half of the game featured many of the ingredients of recurring turnovers for the Bruins. Too many fumbles, ill-advised penalties, poor puck movement, ineffective special teams and late period goals allowed.
Flyers rookie Matvei Michkov showed a long snapshot of his considerable promise. The 19-year-old scored twice in the first period. His second came with 1:36 remaining, adding to Boston’s alarming collection of goals allowed in the final two minutes of the period.
The Bruins’ No. 2 power play has had more success in recent games. Trent Frederic continued the trend. He deflected Mason Lohrei’s shot past Ivan Fedotov at 5:26 of the second.
But the Flyers stretched their lead to two goals. While the Bruins seemed to be running around chasing hits as Philly moved the puck and Cam York batted Jeremy Swayman to make it 3-1 after two.
Frederic, who had not scored a goal in nine games, scored his second early in the third. He jumped on another rebound and nailed it through traffic past the screen goalie to make it 3-2 with 14:42 left.
The Bruins tied the game when Justin Brazeau led off Brad Marchand on a getaway He got Fedotov a little more and slipped the puck between his legs with 5:22 left.
Boston couldn’t convert a late power play to force overtime.
Swayman made just one of his 23 saves in overtime, but stole Joel Farabee on a breakaway to keep the game alive for Zacha’s game-winner.
