A woman has been charged over the death of a 42-year-old man who was fatally mauled by a dog in east London.
Officers were called to Shirley Road in Stratford at 4.53am on Wednesday after reports of a man seriously injured, Scotland Yard said.
The man was taken to hospital where he later died. His family has been informed and a post-mortem will be done at the appropriate time, the police said. The dog involved in the incident was captured.
Leanne McDonnell, 32, of Stratford, was charged with having a dog dangerously out of control causing injury resulting in death.
He also lacks the duty of a human being responsible for an animal, to ensure its safety and keep a fighting dog.
McDonnell was also charged with three counts of dangerously out of control causing injury to a dog, in relation to separate incidents on November 18.
She was released into custody and is due to appear at Barkingside police on Friday, police said.
