OpenAI is launching a new, more expensive subscription tier for people to access its most powerful series of AI models, which it first unveiled in September.
The AI giant said its new ChatGPT Pro subscription will cost $200 (£157) a month, but will give users “unlimited” access to its OpenAI o1 model, which is designed to spend more time thinking and thinking before speaking. answers to queries, which allows him to help solve more complex tasks or problems.

As part of the announcement, it was confirmed that o1 is now also out of preview, and that the new subscription will also include access to ChatGPT’s existing models and its voice mode.

“Today we’re adding ChatGPT Pro, a $200 monthly plan that provides scaled access to the best OpenAI models and tools.

The announcement came on the first day of what the company calls the “12 Days of OpenAI,” where, in the run-up to Christmas, the company will make a series of announcements about new features, apps, products and updates.
The new high-priced subscription comes as the AI startup reportedly faces pressure from investors to cut its losses and increase revenue, as the infrastructure around building and training AI models is notoriously expensive.
In October, it was announced that OpenAI had raised $6.6 billion in a new round of funding, and the company’s investors will be watching the AI firm continue to grow.
