A recent cluster of storms has done little to change the course of the drought in Massachusetts, as critical drought conditions continue despite rain and snow.
Much of Massachusetts, including the western, Connecticut River Valley, southeastern, central and northeastern regions, remains in a critical drought level 3, the secretary of the Executive Office of Energy and Environmental Affairs, Rebecca Tepper.
The only part of the state not at this critical level is the Cape and Islands region. However, Tepper raised the drought level for that part of the state to Level 1-Mild Drought, his office said in a statement.
