Trump appoints David Perdue as US ambassador to China
Donald Trump has tapped former senator David Perdue to be the US ambassador to China amid escalating military and trade tensions.
The president-elect said the former Georgia senator “brings valuable expertise to help build our relationship with China.”
Mr. Perdue, who lived in Hong Kong during his 40-year career as chief executive, will be “crucial in implementing my strategy to maintain peace in the region and a productive working relationship with Chinese leaders,” Trump added.
