Boston College women’s basketball suffered a 75-64 loss to Arkansas on Thursday evening at Bud Walton Arena
The Eagles fall to 6-4 on the season and Arkansas improves to 5-5.
Teya Sidberry had a team-best 17 points on 7-of-14 shooting with one run and 13 rebounds (nine offensive).
Dontavia Waggoner reached the 1,000-point mark in her career, adding 15 points with seven steals. Andrea Daley rounded out the top scorers with 13 points (10 in the second half) and seven rebounds.
Backed by three trifectas from T’yana Todd in the first quarter, the Eagles hit four of their seven field goals from beyond the arc for an 18-12 lead late in the first after ‘a Savannah Samuel jumper at the buzzer.
Arkansas closed the gap with an 11-4 run to take a 23-22 lead, while neither team held a lead of more than three the rest of the half, leading to a one-point lead for the visitors at halftime.
Todd and Sidberry led the scoring charge, combining for 20 points on 8-of-14 shooting from the floor.
A 13-6 run to start the third period and five straight field goals pushed BC to a 46-40 lead. Arkansas cut the lead in half in the final frame, giving the Eagles a 53-50 lead heading into the fourth.
The Razorbacks pulled away in the final period, hitting seven of their 11 shot attempts, outscoring the Eagles by 14 for the win. The Razorbacks outscored BC by 19 at the charity stripe and shot 48 percent.
BC grabbed 24 offensive rebounds, the most since the 2018-19 season.
The Eagles return to action Sunday against Virginia in the ACC opener at 2pm in Charlottesville.
