Oh, poor David Benavidez! The undefeated champion chased after Canelo Alvarez like a lovesick puppy, only to be pummeled again and again. Canelo appears to be too busy “fighting the easiest guys to fight” to bother with a real challenge. How careful of him to spare Benavidez the embarrassment!
But fear not, folks! Our hero Benavidez has found a new purpose in life: becoming the undisputed king of 175 pounds. Because who needs Canelo when you can have all the belts, right? “I fight for titles and I fight for accolades,” Benavidez proudly told DAZN News, presumably while polishing his participation trophies.
Benavidez revealed that there are other boxers in the world besides Canelo. “I like what’s going on at 175,” he mused, as if he’d just stumbled upon a whole new dimension. “These guys, everybody in this division is fighting the best. There could only be one king.” Well, isn’t that a new concept?
Now, Benavidez has his sights set on David Morell, confidently declaring, “I’ve got to get past David Morell, which I know I will. Such modesty! But don’t worry, he won’t stop there. He is “looking for all four belts.” Because if Canelo isn’t going to notice him, maybe a great collection of belts will do.
